JREMissing.com found that about 70 episodes of Joe Rogan’s podcast mysteriously disappeared from Spotify on Friday, according to The Verge.JREMissing.com is an online tool for tracking missing shows. The show (and Spotify’s relationship with it) has faced heavy criticism over the past few weeks, but there is no clear link to the missing shows, nor any direct apparent link to the deleted shows.Spotify has been The exclusive hosting of The Joe Rogan Experience since The streaming giant reportedly paid $100 million for The show in 2020,Rogan’s show has taken a big hit from accusations of spreading misinformation (among many other things) about COVID-19 and vaccines.Musicians such as Neil Young, Joni Mitchell and India Arie have removed their music from the platform in protest, while Rogan himself has apologised to Spotify (and defended his programming) for the controversy it has faced.Spotify has also addressed the controversy, opening up about its content moderation policies and holding a tense town hall meeting to defend the company’s relationship with Rogan to employees. All of these are the reasons why some shows go missing without seeming to have any explanation, it’s just a bit of a strange phenomenon.(To be clear, there are more than 1,700 episodes.)A spot check of JREMissing.com data by The Verge shows that The content is indeed no longer on Spotify, even though it was made available to users last year.Spotify did not immediately respond to The Verge’s request for information on why The shows were removed.Joe Rogan did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Verge.
